Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Rentaplace (“we”, “our”, “us”) at rentaplace.io. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

• You must be 18 or over and give accurate details, including a working email address and phone number.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, act fraudulently, or put other users at risk.

We send two kinds of email:

• Service emails, which you receive while you have an account, because they are part of providing the service. They include:
  • security alerts and sign-in notices
  • account and verification emails
  • messages, bookings, applications and tenancy updates
  • notices about planned maintenance, outages or the platform's status
  • important changes to these terms or our Privacy Policy
  These aren't marketing and you can't opt out of them. To stop them, close your account.
• Marketing emails about offers, new features and news. We only send these if you have opted in, at sign-up or later in your account Preferences. You can opt out at any time from Preferences or with the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

• Landlords and agents must only list properties they own or are authorised to let, and keep listings accurate and lawful.
• Don't post misleading, discriminatory or unlawful content, or use Rentaplace to harass, scam or spam others.
• We may edit, hide or remove listings and messages that break these terms.

Rentaplace connects renters, landlords and agents. We are not a party to any tenancy agreed through the platform. Landlords remain responsible for their legal obligations, such as deposit protection, safety certificates and right-to-rent checks. Guidance we provide is general information, not legal advice.

We work to keep Rentaplace available and secure, but we can't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not liable for losses arising from dealings between users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under UK law.

You can close your account at any time from your account settings. We keep some records where the law requires it, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by a service email before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
